We are seeking a driven, intellectually curious, and creative data/decision scientist for an exciting remote role at Value Analytics Labs in the US or Canada.

Essential Functions
In this role, you will:
- Develop, validate, and execute algorithms and mathematical/computer simulation models for health technology assessments.
- Design mathematical and computational models to evaluate the clinical and/or cost-effectiveness of new medical technologies and interventions (e.g., treatments, vaccines, diagnostic tools).
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews in relevant therapeutic areas to inform model design and parameter estimation.
- Contribute to the development of project deliverables, including manuscripts, technical reports, abstracts, and conference presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as health policy/management, industrial engineering, operations research, economics, applied mathematics, statistics, or computer science (or 2 years of relevant work experience)
- Prior experience in mathematical/computational modeling and computer simulations
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, R, C++/C#, or Java
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant quantitative field
- Expertise in mathematical and computational modeling approaches (e.g., microsimulation models, agent-based models, compartmental models) applied to healthcare
- Familiarity with statistical software packages
- Demonstrated ability to draft and publish manuscripts in scientific journals
